To have a friend, you need to be a friend.

Sometimes we meet people not knowing if they will be in your life temporarily, let's be real, imagine if everyone we met was in your life to stay. Well, I am lucky enough to say that every time God puts someone in my life in someway somehow they stay with me for all good reasons.

A few years ago at my job at the time ( Plastic surgeon/Medical Spa) we had an event for a beauty pageant, and a Photographer/videographer came in to shoot the girls doing their Facials and stuff, I didn't really interact with him that day,it was almost time for me to go home (9-5) so my co-worker/supervisor Christie took care of him ,. A few days later Christie said hey wanna do a photo shoot? I have a photographer friend that wants to use a new camera he got and I said hell yeah!, I didn't know it was the guy (Alex) with the camera at work lol. She arranged everything and it was all set up in one week.I was super excited, I had never done like a professional photo shoot with big camera lenses and lights, it was the best day of my life, my sisters and dad came with me to the shoot, we had a blast, my dad acting like my bodyguard and my sisters co-directing the shoot lol. After that, we became good friends to this day.

Last year Alex texted me and said I have an idea, as soon he said that I knew it was for a photo shoot, before he told me what it was I said i'm in, well what he wanted to do was a group photo shoot inspired on what looked like a VOGUE magazine add,my mind started racing with ideas and different looks, he made a group chat with all the people involved, There was Christie whom I’ve known for years and 4 other people that to my surprise I knew one of them, Orlando whom i had met before thru mutual friends and had a blast in the past, Ariel and Yokasta whom i didn't know personally but did follow them on their social media accounts. We made it happen we did the shoot and let me tell yah we had a blast Ariel was late but we made it. It took us more than 5 hours to get the shoots, not because the photographer was wakk but because it took a little bit longer than usual to set up for each look, between changing and keeping a straight face either because Ariel said something funny or because we just could not handle how good Yokasta is at posing after we saw each shot or Orlando on his phone or me making faces, bottom line is we had a blast doing what all 5 of us enjoy doing. What I'm trying to say is that I just takes to meet just one person that could change who your next friend would be for the rest of your life, I'm not going to lie we don't talk everyday nor see each other often but we always go back to doing what we love together as friends at least for me.

Christie, Orlando, Ariel, Yokasta and I have a few things in common, we are Dominicans, we love to eat, we love to dance have a good time or just make the best out of any situation no matter what's happening in our personal lives ,we love to just learn about each other and what we can all bring to the table, and hopefully inspire someone to do the same.
